For Today... March 16, 2009

Outside my window... sunny, lots of birds making noise

I am thinking... about everything I have to do today, and I'm excited about it!

From the learning rooms... reading Charlotte's Web and the Phantom Tollbooth

I am thankful for... file folders.  Yes, it's true.  I love them.

From the kitchen... homemade pizza!

I am wearing... black yoga pants, a pink tank top, and my favorite sweatshirt.  (Not exactly high style.)

I am reading... Praise Her in the Gates.

I am hoping... that I can manage to grow a garden this year.

I am creating... a pretty knitted square with a heart in the middle.

I am hearing... the shower running upstairs, Chickpea turning book pages, and the birds outside.

Around the house... laundry to do, and the carpets need vacuuming.

One of my favorite things... a fun weekend together as a family!

A few plans for the rest of the week... lots going on!  Garden planning, getting some things organized, bloggy stuff, and helping DangerBear at the building.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you... Chickpea's stuffed animals: Mr. Bear, The Owl, and Mr. Friendship Bear.  =)

I like the sound of your knitted square with a heart in the middle! Is it going to be part of something larger, or just a test piece? I'm making little knitted squares at the moment, but just plain ones - I may decorate them later, when they're all sewn up into a blanket.

    Thanks for sharing your daybook.

    Best wishes,
    Jo

I love file folders, too! I thought I was the only one ...

    Thanks for sharing.

Jo: I'm just learning to knit, so it was just a fun, easy little project to help me practice knitting and purling. I love the idea of making lots of little squares and then sewing them up into a blanket! It makes the project seem so much more manageable (and portable).

Jerralea: One of our Sunday traditions is to wander around the office supply store after church. The employees must think we're nuts; we were once there for three hours! Chickpea inherited a love of office supplies, too. =)

Hi Kate, I enjoyed reading your daybook entry today. That stuffed owl of your daughter's is absolutely adorable! I may have to go digging into my fabric stash to see if I can figure out how to make one.
And I, too, have to confess a love of office supplies and all things organizational. :)

Thank you for visiting! I love the bedding at Pottery Barn Kids, and of course you have to have the accessories! Certainly can't live without the stuffed owl. =)

from a newbie knitter -one word comes to mind while reading your blog: Showoff!! Your knitting a square with a heart in it! I am so impressed! I am just working on knitting in a straight line without dropping anything. (notice the lack of lingo abilty to even talk about knitting for very long)

LOL Don't be too impressed! I definitely have a lot to learn, or else I'll be making dishcloths for the rest of my life. ;-)
